    Rid-Rust Ortho-Poly Phosphates

Superior Potable Water Iron, Manganese, Corrosion Control

Phosphates have many uses in drinking water treatment, including to prevent "red" iron (Fe) and "black" manganese (Mn) color, prevent or remove scale and mineral deposits, prevent corrosion in water distribution systems, and to reduce soluble lead (Pb) and copper (Cu) delivered to consumers.

Water Tech RID-RUST proprietary ortho-poly phosphates are specially formulated for superior performance to sequester problematic iron (Fe), manganese (Mn) and other metals, minerals and hardness; prevent corrosion; and control lead (Pb) and copper (Cu) in potable water systems.

RID-RUST provides clear, colorless water, protects pipelines, and improves chlorine disinfection efficiency as iron, manganese, calcium, other minerals are complexed and unavailable for catalyzing the decomposition of chlorine. As a result, chlorine is not consumed to oxidize these materials and chlorine residual remains more stable throughout storage and distribution for disinfection purposes.

    RID-RUST Benefits Include:

    • Sequesters Iron (Fe) and Manganese (Mn)
    • Controls Corrosion, Copper (Cu) and Lead (Pb)
    • Provides Scale Control
    • Reduces Chlorine Consumption and Improves Stability
    • Prevents Biofilm Regrowth

Potable & Wastewater Coagulants & Flocculants

Turbidity, TSS, Color, BOD, COD, Phosphorus and Other RemovalSludge Thickening and Solids Dewatering

Coagulants clarify water by neutralizing the negative electrical charge on suspended colloidal particles in water such as turbidity, TSS, and color, which destabilizes the forces keeping them apart. Particles bond into larger floc that settle to the bottom of a clarifier in a sedimentation system or rise to the top of in a flotation system, to be removed as sludge. Flocculants can also be used to improve floc formation, and are used to thicken and dewater sludge solids.

Water Tech water soluble inorganic and organic coagulants and flocculants meet diverse potable, process, and waste water treatment needs in municipal and industrial applications including the removal of Turbidity, Suspended Solids, Color, BOD and COD, Phosphorous, Lime Softening, Sludge Thickening, and Solids Dewatering.

    Wastewater Treatment Bacteria

Control of Odors, TSS, BOD, Sludge, Fat, Oil, Grease and More

The process of adding bacteria to enhance the natural biological degradation of waste water contaminants is called bio-augmentation.

Water Tech bacteria are highly concentrated mixtures of spores and vegetative bacteria, including patented Bacillus bacteria and Pseudomonas species providing multiple enzymes to degrade standard sewage components, proteins, fats, oil, grease, paper and plant tissue, surfactants, hydrocarbons, ammonia, and other chemicals. They are formulated to work in aerobic (with oxygen), anaerobic (without oxygen), or anoxic (low oxygen, high nitrate) environments and adapt to wastewater stream temperature, pH, and composition.

Water Tech non-sulfate reducing bacteria eliminate hydrogen sulfide (H2S) gas and mal-odors common in septic anoxic and anaerobic wastewater conditions.

Each bacterial cell produces enzymes that degrade solids, organic matter, and contaminants. The bacteria reproduce rapidly, manufacturing more and more enzymes that degrade more and more waste matter. Solids and contaminant levels drop as the process of waste degradation is faster than the addition of new waste.

    Water Tech Bacteria Benefits Include:

    • Reduce BOD and COD
    • Reduce Suspended Solids
    • Eliminate Odors
    • Control Fat, Oil, and Grease
    • Reduce Sludge Volume
    • Reduce Surfactants and Chemicals

  • Pak 27 Potable & Wastewater Algaecide

EPA Approved Non-Copper Potable Water Algaecide

Water Tech PAK® 27 is EPA approved as a water algaestat or algaecide for the selective control of blue-green algae in lakes, ponds, drinking water reservoirs, irrigation and drainage ditches, canals, lagoons, fountains, impounded water, waste water, and aquaculture.

The product is applied at 3.0 to 100 lbs./acre-ft. (9 to 307 lbs./million gals) the granules, manually or via a mechanical spreader, over the surface of the water.

The product is applied at 3.0 to 100 lbs./acre-ft. (9 to 307 lbs./million gals) the granules, manually or via a mechanical spreader, over the surface of the water.

At the recommended application rate, the hydrogen peroxide component controls the growth of blue-green algae. At low dosage rates, green algae are not affected and are available to replenish dissolved oxygen in the water via photosynthesis.

The active ingredient in PAK® 27 is 85% sodium carbonate peroxyhydrate, which is an addition compound of sodium carbonate and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2).

    Benefits Include:

      • Non-Persistent - Will not accumulate in mud and sediments.

  • Dry Chlorine Tablets & Granules

    dow logo

    Safe, Efficient Disinfection

Chlorine has been used for over a century as a primary water disinfectant and is largely responsible for elimination of water-borne diseases such as typhoid and dysentery in developed countries. The killing effect of chlorine depends on water pH, temperature, chlorine level and contact time.

Water Tech supplies high purity, concentrated dry calcium hypochlorite chlorine tablets and granules to kill bacteria, viruses, and cysts in water treatment applications. Our tablets and granules are supplied as 65 or 70% calcium hypochlorite, and provide more economical, safe and convenient disinfection than gas or liquid chlorine. The consistent dissolve rate of Water Tech chlorine tablets and granules also provide lower overall chemical use and better control of residual chlorine.

    Disinfection Applications Include:

    • Potable Water
    • Wastewater and Water Reuse
    • Well Water and Cisterns
    • Recirculating Water
    • Industrial Processes
    • Hotel, Resort, University, and Public Swimming Pools
    • Aquaculture, and Other Applications.

  • Liquid Sodium Permanganate

    NSF ANSI Standard 60 Blue

Potable Water Taste and Odor Control

Permanganate is a strong oxidant used primarily to control taste and odors, remove color, control biological growth in treatment plants, and remove iron and manganese. Permanganate can also be used for controlling the formation of trihalomethanes and other disinfection byproducts by oxidizing precursors and reducing the demand for other disinfectants.

Water Tech supplies 20% and 40% liquid sodium permanganate for these water treatments applications. Permanganate has also shown to lower coagulant dose requirements and improve clarification.

At full-scale water treatment applications, sodium or potassium permanganate is most commonly added early in the treatment process at the raw water intake. Permanganate oxidation may be followed by conventional treatment and filtration, granular activated carbon (GAC), membrane filtration, and chlorine disinfection.

Dose, contact time, pH and temperature affect the effectiveness of permanganate application. Typical doses are approximately 1 mg/L, but can vary depending on water quality and the application point (generally ranges between 0.1 and 5 mg/L).
